You Are Invited: The First Full Table — 24 November 2026

Something special is happening in Ikwo this November. On Tuesday, 24 November 2026, the Simon Community Development Initiative opens its doors to the public with The First Full Table — a day of community, food distribution, and celebration at Ikwo Council Field, Ikwo Local Government Headquarters, Onuebonyi Echara, Ebonyi State, starting at 10:00 a.m.

This is more than a launch event. It is a statement of intent. From our first day in public, SCDI is doing what we exist to do: putting food on tables. Families from across Ikwo Local Government Area will gather to share a meal, receive food parcels, and meet the team behind the six programmes — Anchor Care, Full Table, Covered Ground, Forward Path Scholars, Roots & Renewal, and Trade Forward.

The day will be full of life. Expect music, community spirit, and the simple joy of neighbours eating together. Our volunteers will be on hand to register families for ongoing support, and our programme leads will explain — in plain language — how each family can benefit, from school support for children to skills training for young people to clean water for whole communities.

Why Ikwo? Because this is where the need is real and the community spirit is strong. The families of Ikwo know what it means to stretch a meal, to make do, to keep going. The First Full Table honours that resilience — and says, from this day forward, you do not have to do it alone.

Whether you are a family in need of support, a volunteer with time to give, a partner with resources to share, or simply a neighbour who believes no one should go hungry — you are welcome. Come hungry, leave hopeful. Come as a guest, leave as family.

Registration is open now. Families who wish to attend and receive support are encouraged to register early so we can prepare enough for everyone. Volunteers are also warmly invited — The First Full Table needs many hands.

For those travelling from outside Ikwo, the venue is easy to find: Ikwo Council Field sits within the Local Government Headquarters at Onuebonyi Echara, well known to transport operators across Ebonyi State. Gates open at 10:00 a.m., and the programme runs until 7:00 p.m. Come early, bring your neighbours, and bring your appetite — for food and for hope.

One table. One community. One beginning. We cannot wait to see you there.

Event details: Tuesday, 24 November 2026, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Ikwo Council Field, Ikwo Local Government Headquarters, Onuebonyi Echara, Ebonyi State.
